Gracie and Brent’s November 2022 wedding took us to The Lake House in Piney Flats, Tennessee. It was our first visit. There was a little rain, but the lake views and the indoor setting both stayed with us afterward.
The Lake House is a lakefront wedding venue in East Tennessee. When a water view is a big part of your venue choice, it helps to picture the day in both fair weather and rain before settling on a layout.
Walk through the indoor backup
During the tour, ask to see the indoor plan with your expected guest count. Place the tables, band, and dance floor on the drawing rather than imagining an empty room. Check the route between the two spaces, including where guests can wait while any change happens.
Agree on a weather-decision time with your venue and planner. The band needs to know whether a move affects power, sound, or the time available to set up. Set a decision time that leaves the vendors enough time to make the change.
Keep the ending simple
Decide where guests will collect coats, wait for rides, and say goodbye. If the plan sends people outside, have an indoor alternative for that part of the evening too. Include those locations in the weather backup, too.
