Lance and Lauren’s Avenue wedding brought guests together above downtown Greenville, with the rooftop setting and a dance floor that drew friends and family of different ages. Soulution provided the live music for the reception.
The songs they chose
Their planning notes requested “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King for the first dance, “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong for the father-daughter dance and “Forever Young” by Rod Stewart for the mother-son dance. They asked for live versions, each shortened to about a minute and a half to two minutes.
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered” was also agreed as entrance music. For each formal dance, send the song, exact version, and the length you want.
A reception with a rooftop terrace
Avenue combines an indoor event space with an outdoor rooftop terrace overlooking downtown Greenville. If guests are enjoying both, decide how they will hear the invitation back inside for entrances or dances. Give the planner and band a shared cue rather than relying on people to notice that something has started.
Before finalizing rentals, place the band and dance floor on the same drawing as the tables and bar. Leave comfortable routes for guests and servers. Ask the venue and band to review that layout before the rentals are final.
Send us your wedding date for Avenue and guest count. We’ll check availability and talk through the setup and songs.
