Jackie and Daniel began their wedding with an intimate family ceremony at Horse Cove in Highlands, North Carolina, then brought the celebration to Skyline Lodge. They included white roses, cocktails named for their dogs, and portraits with their pups.
Soulution played for dinner and dancing at the lodge. Pinnacle Events’ account recalls the Motown music, while we remember the close-knit dance floor, sunset views and food from Oak Steakhouse. Fireworks closed the evening.
A Highlands wedding in two locations
Skyline Lodge offers lodging, dining and event spaces in the mountains outside Highlands. When your ceremony and reception are at separate locations, as Jackie and Daniel’s were, include the actual travel and arrival time in the schedule. Your guests, photographer and musicians may all have different routes or setup needs.
Ask the venue which spaces are available for your date and guest count. Keep the dance floor close enough to the music that guests can see the band, with space around it for people who would rather watch and talk.
Plan the final gathering
For any outdoor highlight, decide who gathers guests and where the evening goes next. Give that cue to the planner, photographer and band. Check any fireworks plans directly with the venue and the professionals providing them.
