Watch Soulution at Marisa and Jeff’s autumn wedding at The Village Green in Cashiers, North Carolina.
Marisa and Jeff’s October 22, 2022 wedding at The Village Green began with an acoustic guitar duo on the lawn. Their music plan moved into cocktail hour at 5:30 and a reception from 6:30 to 10, giving the evening a straightforward progression from ceremony to dancing.
The Village Green Commons in Cashiers includes a timber-frame indoor event space, an attached open-air amphitheater, and a lawn. Those adjoining spaces give couples several ways to use the mountain setting without sending guests to another venue.
Choose songs for specific moments
Marisa’s bridal entrance selection was “A Thousand Years,” followed by Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’” for the recessional. For the reception, they chose Heavy D and the Boyz’s “Now That We Found Love” as their entrance song and Billy Ocean’s “Suddenly” for the first dance.
They also requested “Love on Top” and “Islands in the Stream” toward the end of the night. When you request a song, tell us where you picture it in the evening. We’ll discuss whether it fits an entrance, a dance, or the last set.
Decide where the announcements need to reach
When cocktails and dinner use adjoining spaces, make sure the invitation to the reception can be heard where people are standing. Put the move on the timeline and choose a point person to tell the band when the room is ready. Guests can enjoy the lawn without wondering what happens next.
Send us your wedding date for The Village Green and the spaces you’re using. We’ll talk through ceremony music, cocktails, and the reception.
