Chelsea and Justin’s August 12, 2023 wedding in downtown Greenville mixed jazz standards, Motown, disco, and newer favorites. Their timeline began with the ceremony and cocktail hour downstairs at The Venue at Falls Park, followed by reception introductions at 7 p.m.
They chose “Dancing in the Moonlight” for the wedding party’s processional, “Ave Maria” for the bridal entrance, and “La Vie en Rose” for the recessional. For the first dance, they asked us to play the full version of “Fly Me to the Moon” live. Their parent dances used recordings.
Choose the version before you practice
You can make the live-or-recorded decision separately for each dance. If a familiar voice or arrangement matters, send the exact recording. For a live dance, agree on tempo and length with the band before taking it to a lesson. Chelsea and Justin wanted a full first dance, but asked for a fade after the second chorus of one parent dance.
Their schedule put toasts at 7:45, dancing at 8, and a second set at 9 before a 10 p.m. sendoff. They kept the toasts together before the longer dance sets.
Plan the downtown arrival
The venue was on South Main Street by Falls Park. Share the entrance and parking instructions with guests, and give vendors separate load-in directions. A downtown street address alone may not tell someone which door to use.
The property has since been listed as Vue 1919, formerly The Venue at Falls Park. Confirm the current spaces and arrangements with the venue when planning a new event.
Send us your date and current venue details. We’ll check availability and help work through the ceremony, reception, and song cues.
