Friends and neighbors turned out for this summer wedding in Spartanburg. It was a hot day, but guests still filled the dance floor. For a summer wedding, include places to cool off and sit down in the reception plan.
Plan seating and cooling
For a summer reception, put water and comfortable seating near the gathering. Discuss shade or cooling with your venue and planner before the layout is finished. Guests should be able to sit down for a few minutes and still hear the music and see their friends.
If dinner, toasts, and dancing are outside, look at the schedule as a whole. Decide when guests will be seated, when they will move, and where they can go if conditions change. Share the alternate layout with the band so the sound and instruments have a workable place, too.
Keep the music going during breaks
Ask what will play while the musicians rest. You can share a short playlist of songs you love that work better as recordings, then let the band know which favorites you want saved for a live set. Put any speeches or announcements in the same plan so they do not interrupt a song you have been waiting for.
Send us your Spartanburg wedding date and venue, and let us know if the reception will be outside. We’ll check availability and talk through the setup.
