Kristen & Jason’s Huguenot Loft Wedding

Film by Matt & Meredith Films · Shared by Beckon Events

Kristen and Jason’s fall wedding at Huguenot Loft made good use of a downtown Greenville venue with more than one gathering space. They exchanged vows in the Broad Street Room, then guests headed downstairs for cocktails while the upstairs reception was prepared.

The Loft’s exposed brick, wood floors and river-facing windows come from its history as a textile mill. Kristen and Jason added hunter green velvet linens and floral hoops. Kate Asire Flowers moved the hanging ceremony installation above the head tables for dinner.

Put the room change on your timeline

Reusing ceremony flowers can be a good way to spend your floral budget, but someone needs enough time to move them. Ask your planner and florist how long the change will take, then build cocktail hour around that answer. Include the band’s setup and soundcheck in the same conversation, especially if several teams will be working in one room.

Before you finalize the schedule, decide who tells the musicians that guests are ready to come upstairs. Allow a few minutes for everyone to arrive before announcing the couple or starting a dance. Cocktails can feel relaxed even when there is plenty happening behind the doors.

Beckon Events planned Kristen and Jason’s celebration, with photography by Sarah Pascutti Photography and a film by Matt & Meredith Films. See the original wedding feature.
