Kelly and Greg chose The Farm at Old Edwards in Highlands for an intimate outdoor wedding. Shay Brown Events coordinated the day, Oakleaf handled the flowers, and Cass Bradley for BlueSky Studios photographed the celebration. Soulution provided the reception music.
The photographs show how much personality they brought to the dances. Kelly and Greg’s first dance included plenty of twirling, and Greg and his mother followed with a choreographed dance featuring disco moves. A champagne tower was another detail guests could gather around.
Give a choreographed dance a little preparation time
If you are rehearsing a routine, send the band the recording you are practicing with before the arrangement is settled. Agree on whether the dance will be live or recorded, how it starts and where it ends. If the routine depends on an exact musical cue, point that out rather than relying on the song title alone.
Put any props or setup changes in the timeline, too. Your planner can make sure the floor is clear and the photographer is in position before the introduction. A parent dance can have its own personality, whether that means a traditional slow song or something playful.
Planning at The Farm
The Farm at Old Edwards includes gardens, a pond, the Barn and adjoining Pavilion, and the Orchard House. Those spaces make it worth marking each part of your wedding on a property plan. Confirm which areas your event will use and what happens if the outdoor plan changes.
For guests staying around Highlands, give transportation providers the wedding location as well as the lodging addresses. Check the last pickup time against the last dance so nobody has to choose between the two.
