Kaylie and Will’s April 12, 2025 wedding at Huguenot Loft combined an acoustic ceremony duo with a seven-piece Soulution reception band. Megan Byrne Photography captured the family dances and the later party in the loft.
Their ceremony choices included “Here Comes the Sun” for the wedding party and Ruelle’s “I Get to Love You” for the bride, with The 1975’s recording of “I’m in Love with You” for the recessional. For their first dance, they chose a live version of Dan + Shay’s “You,” based on the acoustic recording and ending after the first chorus at roughly 1:12.
Share the recording and the cue
A title alone does not tell your band the tempo, introduction or ending you have in mind. Send the recording and point out the part that matters. Kaylie and Will also specified the starting point for their entrance recording, “Jubel” by Klingande. Put those cues in the timeline so the planner and person playing the track have the same instructions.
Huguenot Loft is part of downtown Greenville’s Peace Center campus, with exposed brick, wood floors and windows facing the river. Their reception plan named the River Street Room. Use room names in your own plan so vendors know exactly where to set up.
Plan the recorded music, too
Their party requests leaned toward upbeat ’80s music and modern pop, with fewer slow songs and 2000s hip-hop during recorded breaks. Share a few must-hear songs and a do-not-play list, then discuss what guests will hear between live sets.
The schedule placed dinner stations at 7, followed by dance sets at 7:30 and 8:45. Keeping those stretches clear gives guests time to settle into dancing.
