Corey and Cason’s Hotel Hartness wedding paired a solo saxophone ceremony entrance with a seven-piece Soulution reception band. Their music plan chose “At Last” for the courtyard entrance and a live “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” introduction into the reception. Evan Taylor Studio photographed the day.
Hotel Hartness offers indoor and outdoor event spaces in Greenville, with a ballroom and onsite accommodations. Corey and Cason’s schedule used the courtyard for the ceremony, the terrace for cocktails and dinner stations both inside and outside.
List the music needed in each space
If you are using the courtyard, terrace and ballroom, write down who supplies music and microphones in each place. Check the sound needed outdoors separately from the reception system. Share the room plan with your venue, planner and musicians, including the indoor weather alternative.
For Corey and Cason, the first-dance selection was Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need,” planned as a live arrangement of about two minutes. Their parent dances, “Isn’t She Lovely” and “Days Like This,” were each planned for about 90 seconds. Agree on those lengths with the musicians, then share them with the photographer.
Make the ending part of the schedule
Their plan called for “Midnight Train to Georgia” at 9:50 before a 10 o’clock departure. Work backward from your own agreed end time in the same way. Allow for the last song, any private dance and guests getting into place for the send-off. Confirm transportation timing before the final timeline goes out.
