Addison and Wells brought family history into their wedding at The Rye Patch in Aiken. Addison carried a cameo pin on her bouquet and wore her mother’s pearl bracelet. Their cake topper came from her parents’ 1982 wedding, and family wedding photographs decorated the reception.
The ceremony and reception were on the same property. DePriest String Trio provided ceremony music, and Soulution joined them for the reception. Jessica Roberts photographed the first dances, guests beneath the trees and café lights, and the couple leaving in a vintage car.
Choose a few keepsakes and give them a plan
If you want to include family objects, write down where each one belongs and who takes it home. Tell the photographer which details you would like documented before guests arrive. A small list keeps a meaningful piece from getting left in a dressing room or packed away before its photograph.
Family songs can work in the same way. Share the connection with your band and choose where the song fits, whether that is a parent dance, a dinner selection or something everyone can sing later. It does not need a long announcement to matter.
An outdoor reception at The Rye Patch
The Rye Patch is a restored residence in Aiken with downstairs event rooms and an upstairs bridal dressing room. Its history is tied to the city’s early-1900s winter resort and equestrian community. The house and grounds give a wedding several places to gather.
Before finalizing an outdoor layout, ask the venue about the band’s permitted position, power and music end time. Walk the route guests will use after dark and include the weather backup in the shared plan. Keeping the ceremony and reception together saves a drive, but the moves between spaces still need time.
