Ally and Mike’s June 3, 2017 wedding began at Daniel Chapel at Furman University and ended with a firetruck send-off from Revel Event Center. Angel Ruff photographed their first look on campus before the rain arrived. By the time they left for the reception, the rain had stopped and the trolley was waiting.
Soulution played at Revel, where the photographs show the couple dancing in front of the band and friends gathering around them. A glow party rounded out the reception before the newlyweds climbed aboard the firetruck.
Put the trip between venues on the timeline
When the ceremony and reception are in different places, count more than the drive. Include photographs, boarding the trolley or shuttle, parking and the walk inside. Give the transportation company the same schedule as your planner and band, and name someone who can let the reception team know you are on the way.
Rain can affect that transition even when both venues are indoors. Decide where guests will wait and how they will reach the vehicles. Do not schedule the entrance so tightly that a few extra minutes at the chapel puts the rest of the evening behind.
Planning a reception at Revel
Revel Event Center is on East Stone Avenue in Greenville. Its Grande Ballroom has exposed beams, brick walls, chandeliers and a built-in stage, with a Whiskey Lounge and outdoor promenade elsewhere in the venue. Ask which spaces will be included in your event and where guests will gather before introductions.
For a glow-party moment or special getaway, choose who distributes the props and who cues the ending. Put those jobs on the plan so the couple can stay with their guests. Revel’s event schedule has changed since this wedding, so confirm current private-event availability directly with the venue.
